Common Digital Competence Framework (CDCF)

Today's session has been about Common Digital Competence Framework, as known as CDCF. It is an innovative approach to both teaching and learning: not only do students learn with, from, and about technology, but so do teachers. Amazing, isn't it?

CDCF is made up by 5 main areas, namely: information and data literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, safety, and problem solving. It is evaluated according to a scale which is very similar to that of languages, that is, "Beginner" (A1 and A2), "Intermediate" (B1 and B2), and "Proficient" (C1 and C2). Therefore, as we see, CDCF is quite a complex concept!

I think that technology is not only a useful tool to apply to teaching, but rather a necessary one. Being in the 21st Century and technology being a very up-to-date issue, we cannot just ignore it, but we need to learn how to profit from it, and also to teach our students how to do it. We use technology everyday, and it is essential to educate and to be educated on it.
